Top 5 Myths About HEMP: Learning about HEMP Products

Science-Rite HEMP Blog: Top 5 Myths About HEMP

As we learn more about HEMP, myths are quelled left and right. When you start your journey with HEMP, it’s essential to stay armed with accurate information, so we’re here to explain the top misconceptions about the compound.

Myth #1: HEMP Is Addictive

Somewhere along the road, the idea that HEMP was addictive grew popular. In fact, many people believe all cannabinoids are harmful for the same reason.

However, cannabidiol is not considered an addictive substance, according to the World Health Organization. While every substance has the potential for abuse, HEMP was not found to be physiologically addictive.

Myth #2: All HEMP Is Made the Same

The truth is, there are some low-quality HEMP products on the market. Because the industry is blossoming, plenty of brands are trying to get in on the money rather than create products to help their customers.

But, while you can find mediocre HEMP, you can also find high-quality cannabidiol products. The best HEMP is science-backed and made with natural ingredients by brands who care about their clients.

Myth #3: HEMP Products Are Free from THC

Because HEMP is not all the same, this is true for the presence of THC. Each form of HEMP - isolate, Broad-Spectrum, and Full-Spectrum - contains different cannabinoids.

HEMP isolate contains only cannabidiol - no other cannabinoids. Full-Spectrum has cannabidiol and other cannabinoids, including THC. And Broad-Spectrum HEMP is a happy medium that includes cannabidiol and other cannabinoids but no psychoactive THC.

Myth #4: There Is No Research About HEMP

Though HEMP is still unregulated by the FDA, there is research on the compound going back as far as 1940. Scientists have been studying this fascinating compound since its discovery.

While there is still much to learn about HEMP, new information about its potential uses is published every day.

Myth #5: HEMP Is Illegal

Like all cannabis, the legality of HEMP is constantly shifting. Now, HEMP is legal in all 50 states since the 2018 Farm Bill, though the exact laws differ by region.

However, THC is not legal throughout the country. That’s where Broad-Spectrum HEMP products shine - they don’t contain any THC, so they are fully legal but still offer the benefits of multiple cannabinoids.
